Meet the Speaker

Salma Mehar RD PGdip - A Specialist Diabetes Dietitian and founder of NutritionEd a new education platform for families from diverse communities. Salma has beenworking in the field of community dietetics as a clinician and an academic forover 20 years.  

Salma is currently working as a senior project manager for diabetes transformation  programme in North West London and conducting a health inequalities project with Imperial college.

She has written a numberof resources on diet, Ramadan and diabetes and is also the co Author of “World Food book”by Carbs and Cals, which is the first visual carbohydrate awareness resourcefor ethnic communities.  Salma has alsocontributed to the cultural content  for anumber of Digital diabetes resources including Digibete, MydiabetesMyWay,Diabetes and Ramadan Alliance Ramadan Nutrition plan (DAR IDF).

Her passion toaddress health inequalities through tailored nutrition and lifestyle advice hasreflected in many projects related to improving community health and long termconditions.
